Active Release Technique in Hollywood, FL
The one where you do not lie still. Your therapist holds the tissue, and you take it through the range it has been avoiding.

What is active release technique?
Active Release Technique puts together two things most hands-on work keeps apart: precise contact and your own movement. Your therapist locates the exact place where a muscle or a scar has bound down, presses in, holds that contact completely still, and then asks you to move. Lengthen the muscle under their thumb. Drop the ribs with a breath. Slide the leg out. The tissue is pulled through the contact instead of rubbed underneath it, and the adhesion shears free along the line the muscle actually works in. That is what the word active is doing in the name. You are not a passenger on the table, and the treatment lands in the exact direction your body has stopped moving. It is used here for chronic pelvic pain, painful intercourse, urinary leaking and frequency, constipation and diarrhea, and pain across the low back, hips, and abdomen.
Because you are working, this is more demanding than lying still, and it is only honest to say that releasing a genuinely bound adhesion can be uncomfortable while it happens. Mild soreness the following day is common, close to the ache after unfamiliar exercise. Visits run 30 to 60 minutes, one on one, behind a closed door, and anything involving the pelvic floor directly is described in full before it is offered and stopped the moment you say so. Florida does not require a physician referral to start. Ronda will go through what your visits cost before you book: (954) 842-3825.
Who Active Release Technique in Hollywood helps.
This suits restriction that is tied to a movement. If one particular motion reliably reproduces your symptom, the treatment can be aimed at exactly that motion instead of at the area in general.
Sex that hurts in the same place every time
It catches at the entrance, or deeper and off to one side, and it happens in the same spot on the same angle every time. That consistency is information, not bad luck. Holding contact on the bound tissue while you move through the position that provokes it treats the restriction in the direction that actually matters to you.
Pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy
Turning over in bed. Getting out of the car. Taking the stairs one step at a time, sideways. As pregnancy loads the pelvis, tight hip and abdominal tissue starts pulling on joints that are already working hard. Guided release through those exact movements can ease the pull without asking you to stretch into pain.
Scar tissue that binds when you move
C-section scars, perineal repairs, and abdominal surgery leave tissue stuck to the layers around it. You feel it when you reach, twist, or bear down, and not when you are lying still. Treating the scar while you move it tells the tissue which direction it needs to glide again, which pressing on it passively cannot do.
What to expect in a session.
You will be given instructions during treatment rather than left to relax. Expect to work a little.
Finding it through movement
Your therapist takes you through the positions that provoke your symptom, feeling the tissue as you go, until the exact spot and the exact direction show up together. Then you are asked whether what they found reproduces the thing you actually feel at home, because your answer decides where the session goes.
Contact, then motion
The contact goes on and stays put while you perform the movement your therapist calls out. There is a strong pulling or burning sensation as the tissue slides under the thumb, and it usually lasts only seconds per pass. It is uncomfortable and it should stay bearable. One word from you and the pressure comes straight off.
Re-testing before you leave
You repeat the movement that hurt on the way in, so you feel the difference yourself while it is still fresh. Most people walk out looser and a little tender in the treated spot. That tenderness tends to settle within a day, and moving gently rather than resting keeps the new range available to you.
This is not a massage and it is not meant to be relaxing. Discomfort during a pass is expected. Sharp, breath-holding pain is not, and it is a signal to change the pressure rather than something to push through, so say so the moment it happens. It is also not the whole of your treatment. Freeing tissue only holds if the strengthening and coordination work that follows gives your body a reason to keep the range it just got back.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Leslie, and I couldn't be more grateful for the experience. From the moment we met, Leslie's warmth and genuine care put me at ease.
