Emsella Pelvic Floor Strengthening in Hollywood, FL
If Kegels alone have not changed anything, Emsella contracts the pelvic floor for you, thousands of times in one session, while you stay fully clothed.

What is Emsella pelvic floor strengthening?
Emsella uses high intensity focused electromagnetic energy, shortened to HIFEM, to reach the pelvic floor directly. The field passes through clothing and skin and makes the muscle contract. Not a small contraction either. A full one, repeated thousands of times across a single treatment, at a rate no voluntary Kegel can match. That is the entire purpose of the device. If you have been told to squeeze and hold and you cannot find the muscle, or you find it and it fades after four repetitions, the machine produces the contraction your pelvic floor cannot yet produce on its own, and it gives your nervous system a very loud reminder of where that muscle lives.
Most clinics sell Emsella as a stand-alone treatment. Here it is one piece of a pelvic floor program, never the whole program. Your therapist evaluates you first and then decides whether the device belongs in your plan at all. Around it sit the things that make strength stick: neuromuscular re-education, deep core work, pressure management, bladder control strategies, and a home program written for your body. Passive treatment is not the aim. Strength you keep is the aim, and no machine on its own teaches coordination. Florida is a direct access state, so you do not need a physician referral to start.
Who it's for.
Emsella is a strengthening tool. It suits a pelvic floor that is weak or poorly recruited, not one that is already gripping and painful, which is exactly why the evaluation comes before the device.
Leaking when you cough, sneeze, or run
You cross your legs before a sneeze. You skipped the run, then skipped the class, and now you plan the day around where the bathrooms are. Leakage with coughing, sneezing, running or lifting is common, and it is not a discipline problem. When the pelvic floor cannot generate force fast enough to meet the pressure, Emsella trains that response directly.
Weak or disconnected since pregnancy
You were cleared at six weeks and told to ease back into exercise. Months later your core still feels like it belongs to somebody else, and every attempt to return to training ends in pressure or leaking. If you cannot feel the contraction well enough to train it, the device supplies the contraction while your therapist rebuilds the coordination around it.
Weakness that Kegels have not touched
Reduced support around menopause. Leakage or pelvic weakness after prostate surgery. Less awareness through the pelvic floor and less sensation with sex. These share one pattern: the muscle is under-recruited, and home exercise alone has not changed it. Emsella is worth discussing when you have done the exercises honestly and nothing has moved.
What to expect at your visit in Hollywood.
Visits run 30 to 60 minutes, one on one, in a private room with the door closed. Here is what actually happens.
Evaluation before anything is switched on
Nothing is turned on until your therapist has assessed you. That means your history, a look at how you breathe and manage pressure, and a pelvic floor assessment. If any part of that involves internal work, it is explained to you first and you decide. Consent is continuous, and it is yours to withdraw at any point.
The treatment itself
You sit on the Emsella device, fully clothed, and stay seated for the session. There are no needles, no internal devices, and nothing to insert. The electromagnetic field does its work through your clothing, and you feel the pelvic floor contract and release in repeated waves. The intensity is set to what you can tolerate and it should not hurt. Tell your therapist the moment it does.
The part that makes it last
The device builds force. It does not teach you when to use that force. So the rest of the visit is hands-on work, breath and pressure training, and specific loading for your deep core, plus a home program. Your therapist tells you at the evaluation what your plan looks like rather than promising you a date.
Emsella is not appropriate for everyone, and a short conversation sorts that out before anything is switched on. Tell your therapist if you are pregnant or think you may be, if you have a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, neurostimulator or drug pump, if you have any metal implant or metal IUD in or near the pelvis, if you have an active malignancy in the treatment area, or if you have a bleeding disorder or take anticoagulant medication. Your full history is reviewed before the device is used at all.
I have had the pleasure of working with both Dr. Leslie and Tanya who were both incredibly knowledgeable and always made me feel super comfortable.
