Tanya Magney
Tanya Magney is a licensed physical therapist assistant, a certified yoga therapist and a licensed massage therapist, and she uses all three in the same treatment room. That combination is unusual, and it matters. Most people who reach her have already tried one lane on its own: exercises with nothing done to the tissue, or bodywork with nothing to carry the change forward. Tanya works both at once. Manual techniques open the door, then breath, movement and load teach your body how to keep it open. She holds training in both male and female pelvic health, so the room does not change depending on who walks into it.
Her hands-on work reaches well past the pelvis, because the pelvis rarely acts alone. She is trained in visceral manipulation and in Structural Integration, two manual approaches concerned with how the organs, the fascia and the whole frame move in relation to one another. A tailbone that will not settle can be tied to a rib that will not rotate. Tanya goes looking for those connections rather than chasing the loudest symptom, which is how she gets at root causes instead of managing them. Plans are built one patient at a time, revised as your body answers, and paced so the progress holds after you leave.
Blending the science of physical therapy with the art of healing, through yoga therapy, massage, and advanced manual techniques.
What guides the work.
Tanya's work rests on three commitments. Find the root rather than the loudest symptom, because quieting the noise buys you a week and addressing the cause buys you the year. Build the plan around the person in front of her, since two patients carrying the same diagnosis rarely need the same session. And carry the work past the pain: healing first, then recovery, then prevention, so you leave with strength, resilience and a clear idea of how to protect both. Patients tend to describe her approach as thorough. What they mean is that she keeps asking questions after the obvious answer has already turned up, and that she explains what she is doing while she does it, so nothing about the session is a surprise. That is the clinical excellence and heart-centered care this practice was built on, delivered one appointment at a time.
