Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect during physical therapy sessions?
Pelvic physical therapy sessions are held in a private, comfortable treatment room. Each visit is one-on-one with your therapist, giving you the privacy and attention you deserve. Because the pelvic area is involved, some portions of the exam or treatment may require partial undressing, similar to a visit with a gynecologist, but your comfort and privacy are always the top priority. Your therapist may use gentle manual techniques, guided exercises, and education on bladder, bowel, and sexual health to help you feel more in control of your body and confident in your recovery.

Do I need a referral from my doctor before attending Physical Therapy?
Florida allows direct access to Physical Therapy care with minimal restrictions, streamlining your path to treatment. Patients benefit from lower costs, faster appointments, and more control over their healthcare decisions.
What do I need to wear or bring with me?
You don’t need to worry about what you wear to your pelvic physical therapy appointment. Sessions take place in a private treatment room where you’ll have time and space to change. If you have any relevant medical paperwork, such as x-rays, ultrasounds, or doctor’s notes, you’re welcome to bring them, but it’s not required.
